Morrriss (avec trois R et deux S) est un currieux personnage. Il est tombé dans l'art par hasard, parce qu'il galérait de petit boulot en petit boulot et qu'une de ses amies lui a soufflé de se mettre à la peinture. Le voici dans sa galerie, un univers animalier où il peint de facétieuses petites autruches, des éléphants, des gorilles..

Morrriss, spelt with three Rs and two Ss, inspires a certain lack of concern, spontaneity, naturalness and, if truth be told, real fantasy that is very pleasing. His colorful painting is full of the oddities of the mind and could be called Pop Art but the artist could be defined as a free electron. Each one of his painting merits a second at it never quite is what it seems… you may start wondering...

Morrriss is a peculiar person who fell in Art when faced to a blocked future some 15 years ago. Thanks to one of his good friends who taught him into painting, here he is now, in his La Baule studio, painting facetious little Ostriches, Elephants, Gorillas...

Pop Art inspired artist Morrrisss is also a guenuine philosopher, totally in line with Alphonse Allais’s work, displaying every day in his studio window the thought of the day, along with the painting of the night. Both pleasing philosophy and art amateurs. His work is so realistic it becomes surrealist. 'With brushes, paint and canvasses, everything becomes possible'.

'I have no limits'.Large or small canvasses, some of his paintings cover 7 or 8 canvasses that clients either display together or choose to play around and have them sprayed along the rooms. Morrriss is a born traveller. As such, his first ambition is to make his visitors react, talk.

There is always something happening at Morrriss's studio, the Atelier 269, he opened 15 years ago. His painting combines color, rythm and realism. He has imagined a fantasy zoo where the Ostrich star looks down the colorful Goldfish, amusing Monkeys, powerful Bulls or funny British Bulldogs. His style is that he does not have one !

On the front door of his studio, opened a few years ago, Morrriss displays the thought of the day: 'The difference between you and me is that I am not you.' The artist contemplates our world and chooses through his work to share his humorous interpretations of his numerous sources of inspiration : cinema, news, animals…
